Never judge a book by it's cover..........

 and all that, right?

We were in a high end plastic surgeon's office on Monday.  No, we're not getting plastic surgery 🤣 This guy does regular surgery as well.  Super nice guy by the way.

Anyway, I had never been before but went with hubby this time, as two set's of ears are better than one I find when you're getting older....just saying!!  While we were sat in his office waiting for him we saw these pictures on the wall.

We were laughing at the one on the left; saying how even I could paint something like that and goodness knows how much he paid for it!!

I finally decided to take a closer look:

Turns out it's wrapping paper covering a frame of some sort.

I know when we used to go to the art show/auction for charity there were a number of things that honestly I thought were done by a child.  People were going mad over them, while hubby and I hated them.  So we figured this blue "painting" was one of those!!!

What suits one doesn't suit another I guess.

We frequently talk about art we have seen, at markets and exhibitions, and have exorbitant prices on them.
It beggers belief. Yes some are exactly what a toddler would paint.
Apparently in the art world they’re described as “ child like”
We call them childish
Gives me hope that maybe one day I’ll get lots of money for my work lol

Maybe it is used with post-it notes as a pin board sometimes? Or maybe it is like a school exam room, where the information underneath needs to be covered up? My friend is an invigilator, and said there was quite a fuss when the geography exam was held in a room full of maps!!

High end art work! Reminded me of a painting that was in my dr's office years ago. Someone had taken a 3" paint roller and rolled strips across the canvas in different colours. He said he paid $350 for it and I told him that if he ever wanted any more I'd be more than happy to paint them for a lot less than that.

So many different kinds of art.
I do enjoy looking at paintings but most of them are of scenery, lakes, mountains, flowers etc.

Guess we all like different things/styles.

All the best Jan

I find it really funny.
I tried watching the landscape painting thingy that was on telly (finally got it over here) but they always ended up picking people whose paintings were well...not my cup of tea and rather a-child-could-paint-this but they had a really good story to go with it. Couldn't watch anymore.

I'd like to think it's a new doc who hasn't had the time or money to get good art for the walls! I've heard of the paper thing (wrapping paper) over plain canvas to make fast Christmas art, but I don't think I'd hang it in a waiting room. Not sure I'd hang it in my house!

It is hilarious that "high-end art" turned out to be just wrapping paper. It really proves that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Art is so subjective, but at least this gave you a good laugh while waiting; I just shared a new post that you're invited to read.

Wiped out...........

After everything that went on last week, I am wiped out.  I thought I had more energy than I had, but no, I am pooped.  It's funny we al...
