Bemused, might be the word.......

 along with amused.........

We called in at gas/petrol station on Sunday night on our way home, as the price of gas was $1.62 a litre, which is a good price...that in itself is a crazy statement saying that is a good price.

Anyhoo, I got out to fill the car, and the first thing I noticed was that I had to pay before we pumped the gas.  This is not a gas station we use very often.  So I grabbed my purse out of the car, and went back to the pump.

This time it asked for my CAA membership; okay so searched in my purse and got that out and swiped it.

It then asked for my Air Miles membership; once again searched in my purse and got that out and swiped that one as well.

By this time I am thinking, I should have brought my chair and coffee.

Next it asks how much gas (money wise) would I like to put in.  Normally I just fill to the top, so spent a few moments trying to figure that out and pressed the button.

Then it asked to swipe my credit card, so did that.  It then asked for pin # and it finally spit out my credit card.  It then asked what grade of gas I wanted....cheapest obviously...LOL

Then it was time to put the gas in my car.........it asked if I wanted a receipt, so got that.  Did discover that we got the gas for 3 cents cheaper per litre, due to the CAA membership; this was a Shell Gas station, so that was good.

I was ready for a nap by the time I had done all that 😏

So I was out Monday morning and the price of gas where I was at was $1.73 a litre......price gouging at it's finest!!!

Wow your petrol is cheep! At the moment our unleaded is around £1.56 (2.91 in your money) and diesel is pushing almost £2 a gallon at most places, no wonder our food prices are going up!!

Almost all gas stations make you prepay now. I have never been asked for CAA or airmiles at the gas station. Usually just put in your card, select amount and after approved select your grade.

I think that is £1.23 a litre, here petrol is £1.58 average price, £1.55 is the cheapest locally. Diesel has gone up to £1.92 average price, a real rip off as it used to be about 10p more than petrol. We have our pensioners’ free bus passes and a service every 20 minutes to the supermarkets and town centre.

Quite the performance to get gas. We drove to the Tyendinaga Reserve (about 12 minutes away) for gas and found it was 40 cents cheaper per litre than what was in Belleville. Worth the few minutes of extra drive and well worth the savings, especially the way gas prices are these days.

Oh wow - talk about a rigamorole! I hope our gas station doesn't go that route because for now we gas up and go into the store to pay. I'm leery on skimmers on the pumps so prefer to pay in person.

I just signed up for another app to try and get gas discounts, I think I'll have to start getting Costco gas again!

Nothing to do with price gouging - blame it on the US Israeli war against Iran

In the UK some of our gas/petrol stations offer prepay now.
I got some unleaded fuel last week and paid £1-55, but diesel is about £1.90 (possibly more) I think???
Prices are going up every week.

All the best Jan

We have hit a few of those types of stations on our way to Alberta. Glad you got some extra savings on your gas.

God bless.

Sometimes I think all these places ask too many questions. When I go to do my food shop I am asked (by the self service) whether I have any items on the bottom of my trolley, whether I want a short receipt or a long one and whether I recommend shopping there!

I definitely think you deserved coffee and cake after all that.
We have an account for fuel so hubby takes my car to fill it.
Our petrol prices are about the $2.50 Mark. It varies around that
Price. It’s definitely affecting our bottom line. As both employees have company cars and get filled on the monthly account.

Wiped out...........

After everything that went on last week, I am wiped out.  I thought I had more energy than I had, but no, I am pooped.  It's funny we al...
