Not an ear infection............

only (!!) a virus/sinus thing going on {SIGH}  He gave me a prescription and told me to fill it if it didn't clear up in a few days.  Otherwise pull up my big girls pants and get on with it, another {{SIGH}}

Spent a delightful couple of hours trying to get quotes on our house and car insurance.  They range in price from less than $1,500 for both to nearly $2,500 for both {{{SIGH}}}  For those of you who live in Ontario, Presidents Choice Financial Insurance is the cheapest so far and seems to have great coverage.  Thinking we may go with them.  Mind you as my mam always says, an Insurance Company is only as good as how it performs when you do your first claim.

Major crisis, well it is to my mind.  My laptop is away for repair.  The fan stopped working on it.  Took out the extended warranty thank goodness, through Staples.  I have very little faith in those guys after I sent in my Dell laptop for a new power cord and they changed the bloody hard drive..........there was NOTHING wrong with it {{{{SIGH}}}}

Told them this time under no circumstances do they touch my hard drive and to only change the fan.  Called yesterday for an update and was ready to pull my hair out within seconds.  He was rattling on about how they couldn't test the computer because of the security settings I had on it.  Took me a minute to click he was talking about someone else's computer!!  Finally got him talking about my computer and they have sent away to Toshiba for a new fan.  Fingers crossed I get it back before the end of the year............I'm telling you I have no faith in them.

As you know we sold our lawn tractor back in April.  Has anyone ever tried cutting five acres with a regular push lawn mower?  Neither have I, BUT I am getting in plenty of practice in cutting around the house with a push lawn mower.  Suffice to say I am NOT IMPRESSED!!

Got some more things sorted out.  Cost $92.60 to get Canada Post to redirect our mail for a year.  It's actually money well spent in my opinion as you always forget to tell someone you have moved.

Got some more packing done also today; still have a ways to go though.  Who knew there was so much "stuff" in this house!!!

If you're reading this I thank you.

Gill

I hope you feel better soon. You sound very busy and moving does that to you. Take care!

Gill,
You certainly have been very busy.
You must be getting excited about moving into your brand new home.
I can hardly wait to see pictures. Especially the new up grade on the ceiling and the granite you picked out.
Hope you are feeling better soon.
Take Care

Sorry you aren't feeling so good, I hope you do get better. It sounds like you are still getting things done though. Thanks for the tip on Presidents Choice insurance - I will remember that one! I agree $92 is nothing for getting your mail redirected for a year. I always get 'the fear' that I won't get important mail from previous addresses!

You are so busy and then to be sick on top of that. We have used the same insurance company (the same for us) for decades, for house and cars. Mowing 5 acres with a push mower, you will have highly toned muscles!

A sinus infection's no fun either. Only meds will get rid of it.

I know what you mean about using a push mower, my lawn is no where near as large as yours, but it is hard work, and rightly so, I have a few more years on me than you.
You must be getting excited, move getting closer. Can't wait to see pics.

Our house insurance when up, too...and from what I read, we have more to pay as a deductible if anything happens. And it went up $70 for the year...it does make it tempting to look elsewhere...I know we had to change homeowners a few years ago and this place was the cheapest...but maybe it is time to shop again.

Hope you get over sinus thing...the past two weekends I have had sore throats and am assuming they are really sinus drainage things as they go away after a couple days.

$92.60 for what used to be a free service?! Oh my...well i guess Canada Post has to make money somehow! I have a huge lawn in PEI and only a push mower. So far I have had someone cut it for me but eventually I will have to buy a riding mower. That will be exciting when I can cut mygrass myself!

I stumbled across your blog this morning and find that you are in Canada, too. (I live in BC.) It's always lovely to *meet* another Canadian blogger. :) My parents-in-love came to Canada from England in the mid-sixties...so, I connected with you on that as well. So sorry you are having nasty sinus troubles...not fun at all! We have an inspection company that does replacement valuations for properties...we do work for insurance providers in order to document the actual cost of rebuilding if there were a total loss from fire, etc. So...sometimes the cheapest insurance is not always the best. We did an evaluation on our own property and found that we were about $100,000 under insured. It really is worth it to be sure you are properly covered in the event that you should actually need that insurance to kick into action. Just my two cents' worth...for what it's worth. :) All the best with all you have on your plate! Many Blessings, Camille

I hope your sinus infection soon clears up. My OH is suffering with the same affliction right now too.
