Looks like a rabbit, but sounds like a duck?

First let me apologise about the quality of the photos, they are blurry.

Anyhow, Santa brought Molly a rabbit for Christmas, and it has a squeaky thing in it, that actually sounds like a duck quacking, all very unusual.

Do rabbits actually make any noise?  I am not overly familiar with rabbits, but I am quite sure they don't sound like ducks!!

We had a little bit of excitement on Tuesday morning.  I was working away on my computer around 7am when Molly started barking like a crazy dog.  There were two coyotes in the field behind us looking for mice.
How I knew this was they were using the same actions as Molly does when looking for mice.  Mind you these guys were also hopping around like Pepe Le Pew, remember him from the cartoons?  Very funny.

On Monday night a dear friend's Mother-In-Law passed away from cancer, she fought a hard battle with it and out lived her original prognosis as she was a fighter.  At least now she will be out of pain and at peace.  Please say a prayer for her family.

"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul; He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me..." ~ Psalm 23

Sorry to hear about your friend's mother.

No, rabbits don't make a noise like a duck. I used to keep rabbits (another story) and never heard them make any kind of noise. Their behaviour was fun to watch though.

Sorry about your friend's mother. That Molly is priceless. Everytime I see a picture of her I get a chuckle. And guess what it's doing today...I won't even tell you. Hugs

My sister kept rabbits. I never heard them make any noise at all. Since they were loved and cared for, I can't say what noise they might have made in distress, either.

How confusing that toy must be for Mollie :)

I am sorry that your mom's friend...I don't know of any family that hasn't been touched by cancer. Not always fatal, but at least touched by it.

Rabbits don't make noise, that I know of in general living, but I think if they are hurting, as in say a cat or dog catches them, they sometimes make a very high pitched squeal.

My heart goes out to your friend's family at such a sad time.

Molly looks so cute as always.

The sight of seeing those coyotes in your field must have been very exciting.

Sorry to hear about your friends Mother-in-law.
Rabbits actually do make sounds. If caught in a trap or injured they have a high pitch cry often compared to a babies cry. Awful sound to hear. A weasel killed one one our front driveway. They can also spit and growl when threatened and defending their babies. They also can stomp one foot very hard as a warning sound if startled or upset.
They can also cuddle up to you and lick your hand as a cat does.
I've had two special rabbits in my life one lived to be over 10 years old. I miss them everyday.
I've never gotten a pet since because of the heartache I've felt and still do.

I'm very sorry to hear about your friend's loss, I will say a prayer for her and her family tonight.

That is quite special about the coyotes! Did they find anything? They will certainly help keep the mice out of your house!
