I try not to use the dryer if I can help it, I prefer to either hang my laundry out to dry or hang it on a clothes horse. I have dryer envy as I would just LOVE this ceiling mounted dryer it would be perfect in our kitchen. However it costs over $200 USD, not even Canadian dollars to buy one over here. I can't seem to find a Canadian manufacturer, does anyone know of one?

I'm not sure about you but in this house we go through kettles and irons on piece. It doesn't matter how expensive or how cheap they are, we always seem to be buying them? Now it's my irons turn to be replaced. Do any of you have a favourite brand or model. I like a steam iron, and have a Shark one at the moment. I have just "ordered" this one from airmiles, and the cost to me.....FREE!!!! Have to wait 4 weeks for delivery.......but when it's free you don't mind.
I actually enjoy ironing, as I find it therapeutic, how about you?
Update on my knee, although the pain isn't as much, I just can't be on my feet for any length of time as my poor knee aches like mad. So I just pottered around the house and kept sitting down with my leg up. So we didn't go to the wedding, but I didn't think I would be up to it, and don't want to set myself back.
Dh managed to get a little bit of work done in the attic. We are feeling it now with having no insulation in the attic. Its pretty cold upstairs, but we have a fan running and pumping the hot air up the stairs. Our wood burning insert is great and is keeping downstairs toasty warm. We are even managing to keep it going overnight. We are hoping to be at the insulation stage by the middle of the month, fingers crossed.
I have only been catching 1 mouse a night over the last couple of days........I would love to think we only have the odd mouse in the house now, but I don't think so!! I think I caught 17 mice this last week.

You're putting your insulation in yourselves, aren't you? I have a vague memory of a post about buying the batts. Anyway, just wanted to say to remember when you put it in to not put any of it over the top of any downlight fittings you have. Apparently insulation over the electrical fittings is a big cause of ceiling fires here.
I like ironing sometimes. When I don't have huge piles to do & no time. I like to put on a movie or a favourite TV show & enjoy some escapism while I get it all done.
I'd buy the Deluxe Kitchen Maid Ceiling Mounted Airer from Urban Clothes Lines for $214 IF I get the model's figure with it.
Otherwise, I'd put hubby to work with a frame of PVC pipe and some heavy cord over a couple of pulleys. I'd use the money I saved to buy the Spandex.
For the time being, I'll just have to be happy with the $9.95 model from Wally's parked in front of a desk fan. Works. And I'll forget the Spandex; hubby might have a hernia laughing.

I did a search and found this www.stenicproducts.com
They have a product called Lift which is ceiling mounted for 95 dollars. I presume that is Canadian dollars as they are a Canadian company. I am in the uk and I have a basic cast iron and wood airer that cost me £20. Are can't believe the prices you found. Why would anyone pay that?
I can't believe those pulley things are 200 quid. growing up lots of older houses had those things over the fireplace, probably home made. i'm going to get the one from ikea for 17 bucks. i dry laundry in the laundry room overnight and in the a.m. they go in the dryer for a 'fluff' for 10 mins. (saves on the ironing) ironing gets done about once a week here or on an as needed basis.
We had to put in two lots of expandable foam as our newer house has brick walls inside so we needed to put at floor edge.
This site has some interesting drying racks...i think they just ship you to another site to buy but their prices are reasonable

This lady uses Mrs.Pegg's. Holds a lot more than it appears at first site. Think it comes in two sizes.

Liz is so funny!! I don't have a clothes dryer, just use the racks all winter long. It really does save on clothes. Hope you're having a wonderful day. Hugs..and yes I love snow. We are expecting it here on Fri. I'll try to keep it to myself.
Check out the air dryer at http://airdry.org/ - is isn't too expensive and they do ship to Canada - I would one but have no where to mount one.
This clothes drying rack is not a ceiling mounted one but it is great. No plastic and is a redesign of an antique one that my mother still uses. I love mine.
