Some garden photos

We had a couple of tornado watches yesterday.  I will say I am not a fan of tornado's.  The wind and the rain was really bad last night.  So I ventured out into the garden to see what sort of mess I had and was surprised that there was no damage.  I took some photos for you to see how it's looking.  We have had a lot of rain and heat, so everything is looking healthy, other than some brown spots on the lawn, where I was overly enthusiastic with the weed killer!!

Please try and ignore the clapped out caravan that is parked over the road.  It feels a bit like deja vu, as where we lived in the UK, we had a "delightful" event that happened every year around this time of the year, Appleby Horse Fair!!  If I see a horse next, I may not be responsible for what comes out of my mouth........just saying!!

There seems to be a lot of purple and lilac in the garden this year?  I am not doing as much with annuals this year.  I normally have six hanging baskets hanging off the pergola, but I can't be bothered with that.  I have one more tub to plant out front and that will be it.

Are you all set up for the summer in your garden?  For those of you down under, and you putting things away for the winter season?

Finally.........

We got outside into the garden on Saturday to cut the grass and I did some weeding.

This is part of our front garden.  We are on a corner lot so have quite a lot of grass to cut.  Although you can't see it on this photos there are so many dandelions in our grass.  So this year despite getting a company in to weed and feed our lawns, I am going to overseed each time I cut the grass, and/or at least once a week.  A guy who lives around the corner does that and his grass is lovely.

I don't have a veggie patch, so only grow a few veggies in tubs, so this year I am planning on putting a few tubs on my front patio area, as that is where we get a lot of sun.
Our house is well guarded by these two below, my Molly dog and  my flying pig!
I bought two footstools for the chairs out front.  I prefer to have my feet up when sitting down so these work a treat.

So I can say now that garden season has officially started.  Although it will be at least two more weeks before the risk of frost is over with.

Are you full into gardening mode now?  Or do you not have a garden or are interested in gardening?

Sign's of life.........

Finally the garden is starting to come alive.  We still have a little snow left. (as of Sunday afternoon)

Front of the house

Back of the house:
The only real colour in the garden other than some green at the moment:
Some daffodils coming through:
Sunday was bitter cold, hoping it will warm up as the week goes on.

I am guessing some people's spring bulbs have already bloomed and are over?

Taking over...

The weeds are taking over my garden at the moment.  I do NOT like the heat and humidity so the garden is taking a back seat at the moment.  It is so overgrown in some places it is crazy.  However I do know this is a temporary thing and all will be back to normal when it cools down a little.  Meanwhile here are photos of some of the flowers in my garden.

See what I mean very overgrown.

Knitting Bag Bush..........

I have one in my garden do you? 😊

I have been making knitting bags these past couple of days for the Appleby Lane Shop.  As the weather is so nice thought I'd take a photograph of them on my hydrangea bush.

This has to be my favourite time of year.  The mornings and nights are cool, but it is nice and sunny during the day.  Took some photos the other day of the changing colours in the garden.

This Fall weather we are having at the moment, makes you glad to be alive..........

The garden and what is growing in there.....

as we didn't plant this garden it's always interesting to see what pops up next.

I was a little disappointed to see that the peony is white as I love red peonies......however it is still really pretty.

White seems to be a theme in the garden I have discovered.

Now to get rid of the weeds!!

Brampton City Hall Garden...........

I spotted the purple looking ornamental tree while walking back to the car on Saturday.
Couldn't decide what it is, but loved the look of it.
It was in a perfect location.
Any ideas on what it might be?

Tulip time..........

The tulips are flowering in the garden now.  No where near as many as the daffodils, however just as pretty.

Grocery shopping.............

I did a "little" bit of grocery shopping on Friday.  I had read on a group I am part of on Facebook, about how some couples only s...
