I bought four bottles of this Aveeno Moisturizer back in the Fall to use over the winter on my legs. It's a pump top and everything has been working great, it's so much easier on my hands. It stopped pumping out the moisturizer so I figured it had ran out. However when I opened it up there was plenty left in the bottom. I drew a line on the left hand side to show you how much is left.
Has anyone else run into this situation? What was your solution? Or do you have any ideas on how to make the pump work until I finish the bottle?
I may also contact the manufacturer to see what their solution is.
UPDATE:
I did contact the manufacturer customer service. Long story short; they pack the bottle with the expectation that you won't be able to get all the product out. Fair enough, but 2 inches worth of product to be wasted? That to my mind is not acceptable, and I told them so.
Anyhow, I have to send this container back (prepaid UPS) and they will reimburse me with a free product coupon and a couple of other money off coupons. Now as I told the guy, I have no complaints about the product, it works perfectly fine, they just need to figure out a better way of getting the last couple of inches of product out of the bottom. If you say turn it upside down, yes, but you have to balance it against something as the pump top is not level.

It sounds like the tube inside is too short to reach the bottom, That is a really bad design. We have a company here called Method, who produce various cleaning products. They do hand-wash in an attractive efficient teardrop shaped pump bottle. When these are empty, I wash them thoroughly and decant other products into them. You could try that idea sometime. The idea of wasting 15% is appalling
Codex: Spouse uses the same. It's a chronic problem their straw is too short. Upside down into clean jar only option. Hello.
Have a look through all your other bottles of lotions and potions, and find one that has the same size top, but flat, without the pump bit. Perhaps a shampoo bottle would be the same size. If you haven't got one to fit ask friends and family if they can have a look.
In my experience the pump bottles always fail before they are empty. I always cut the bottles open to get the rest out, even tubes and none pump bottles have lots more stuff left in there
that's my thoughts exactly, wasting x amount of product does not make any sense to me..........

I use this product too and it always rankles me that the last of it can't be pumped out. My solution is to cut the bottle open and then use a small spatula to scoop the contents into a smaller glass jar. Not ideal but I can usually get several weeks of further applications that way.

I always seem to have to cut the bottles to get the last out. But I have never, ever seen two inches left in any of my pump bottles.

I cut the bottles open and scrape out the contents into little jars. I hate waste.
I too add water to shampoo and conditioner.
If I use cream in my cooking I will swish a bit of milk in the container to get it all out.
The only thing I can suggest, as I have done this, is to get a long handle teaspoon or other implement that can scrape all the way down to the bottom.
I can usually get lots that way.
