Indigo

When we were in the Eaton Centre last week, I popped into Indigo Books.  They have a huge 2 storey  store, so had a look around.  As it is a Canadian Store they were featuring a lot of Canadian books, authors, publishers etc.  This display was all CBC Books.  I have enlarged the photo as much as I could, the store was super busy.

This section featured Canadian Publishers.  Burman Books, Toronto.   Figure 1 Publishing VancouverFirefly Books Richmond HillECW Press TorontoKids Can Press Toronto.  I didn't capture the bottom shelf company, but I think it is Groundwood Books.
These two books caught my eye and when I read the synopsis on the back cover, they sounded interesting.  The Winner by C.J. Parsons, and The War We Won Apart by Nahlah Ayed.  I will say after reading the reviews on Good Reads (I have put links on the titles of the books), both books had very mixed reviews.

Honestly I am like a kid in a candy store walking into a book store, if money were no object I would have walked out of there with a bag full of books!!!

Do you enjoy looking around book stores?

I love love love bookshops! My favourite ones are always the ones that have lots of nooks and crannies full of books. When I was a teenager I spent a lot of time in a lovely bookshop in town that was housed in an old house that had loads of little rooms. I would just pick a book, sit on the floor in a back corner and read until I decided whether to buy the book or not!

I love walking around in bookstores! I take photos of all the books I want to read and then try to get them online for a little bit cheaper. 😂

I love a bookshop! I lived for years above Three Lives and Co bookstore in Greenwich Village - and I still buy my books there :) It's a bookstore straight out of a fairy tale

Our oldest son used to work in that Indigo store so I'm quite familiar with it. I love bookstores (and libraries) but sadly the RC hates them because he claims he gets a crick in his neck from trying to read the titles. He, however, is a huge reader so you can guess who has to go and find him books!

We hardly have any book stores around here now. Sad really. I’ve always wanted to have a bookshop/coffee shop. With lots of comfy couches so you can order coffee, buy a book and just sit and read
Who knows. Maybe I’ll open that shop one day

I am a mess in a bookstore. Even when I tell myself "you're just looking," it's very hard for me to leave with just one. Indigo always does a wonderful display. It's a terrific store and you are lucky to have them.

Nothing to say...........
