My mom has fostered many dogs and she always preferred to tell the blunt truth about the dogs she had up for adoption to people who applied to give them homes to avoid having dogs come back the the new owners be disappointed when a dog's faults came up. Don't feel bad for the dog, he will find the perfect owner eventually and it would be best for him to stay with his foster for months than to end up being shifted from pillar to post and I am sure that you will eventually find the perfect dog for you as well :o)Karinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07462017384530247677noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1605129043543619307.post-31313249372156865722012-03-14T19:15:41.618-04:002012-03-14T19:15:41.618-04:00Sounds like you dodged a bullet. I have a friend who works for animal control and she can read a dog faster than anything I have ever seen and she is usually right so I am sure the lady was just trying to help you out (and save you a boatload of money!). I can understand her wanting to let people know that they would be adopting a special needs dog, but i also wonder about the comment she amde regarding joints. Even if she said something like, "this breed often has knee and hip problems, although the vet did not find any on the last examination," it would serve as a possible concern in the future.

Who knows? maybe she wants to take the dog herself. I do hope the dog can find a loving home.

Well done on the snow fences, you!
