Mixi is still with us sadly. My daughter's little bunnies caught it somehow and it's awful. She has no idea how they caught it so I'm not convinced rabbits bred to eat will be risk free.

If you ever kept them as pets you just can't. Myxo isn't used anymore, replaced by the calicivirus but rabbits are now developing an immunuty to that as well. We can buy wild rabbits (certified virus-free)or farm-bred rabbits at the 'Game Meat' shop at the markets - along with Crocidile and Kangaroo steaks, goat, venison, emu and a whole host of other wild meats.JohnDhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00608216150220329902noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1605129043543619307.post-75471348469150940962011-01-23T11:22:54.597-05:002011-01-23T11:22:54.597-05:00I have eaten rabbit...it has been years and years....I have eaten rabbit...it has been years and years. Sort of the same way about rabbits...my daughter had one pet rabbit that was really a pet. I wouldn't go out of my way to find it however. Years ago, I suppose we had to eat rabbit because other meat was too expensive. Now, we can usually afford something else. Since you've been ill, I think you made a wise choice to turn down the rabbit. You don't want to suffer from anything else, do you!
Get well soon.
